Iconic Attractions & Wildlife

The Turtle Hospital: Take a 1.5-hour educational guided tour of this working sea turtle rescue and rehabilitation facility. Booking ahead on the Turtle Hospital website is highly recommended.

Dolphin Research Center: Located on Grassy Key, this non-profit allows you to watch educational shows, interact with dolphins, and learn about marine mammals.

Florida Keys Aquarium Encounters: Offers hands-on, immersive experiences where you can safely hand-feed stingrays, nurse sharks, or snorkel in a coral reef tank. Book directly through Aquarium Encounters.


Beaches & Parks

Sombrero Beach: This palm-lined, white-sand beach has gentle waters, picnic areas, and great swimming and snorkeling. It is entirely free to visit.

Curry Hammock State Park: A 1,000-acre park offering excellent kayaking through mangrove trails, paddleboarding, shallow swimming, and excellent camping.

Bahia Honda State Park: Located just about 14 miles south, this park features some of the best beaches in the entire Keys and pristine snorkeling.


History & Nature

Crane Point Hammock Museum & Nature Trails: Walk through one of the last untouched tropical hardwood hammocks, visit the historic Adderley House, and stop by the Wild Bird Center.

Pigeon Key: A small island rich in railroad history sitting just under the Seven Mile Bridge. You can walk, bike, or take the visitor tram to explore its historic buildings and museum.
